One Life, One Chance (OLOC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. OLOC’s mission is to engage and inspire elementary, middle and high school students to make healthy choices and live a Drug Free life.

Through public speaking engagements, Toby Morse informs students how possible it is to maintain a Positive Mental Attitude (PMA), break stereotypes, be a leader, and maintain self-respect.

In the twenty-nine years that I have worked in middle school, I have heard many motivational speakers. You were the real deal. It was obvious that you lived the message, had always lived the message, and you were able to reach the students with what a drug-free life had meant to you.

When I was a teenager one of the songs that made a tremendous impact on the way I would live my life and the important choices I was to make was the song Attitude by the legendary band Bad Brains. There is a line that says, “Hey, we got that PMA,” meaning Positive Mental Attitude. I talk about, sing about, and live PMA!

The Bad Brains actually adopted it from an American author named Napoleon Hill. Hill wrote the book Think and Grow Rich in 1937 which first introduced the Positive Mental Attitude concept.

Napoleon went on to write several other books including Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude.

HR, Bad Brains singer, read Hill’s Think and Grow Rich which led to the band adopting the PMA lifestyle. View the clip below of H.R. talking about the influence of the book on his and his bandmates lives and music.
